Spend some extra
days in Finland; combine work with pleasure and enjoy the
possibilities your host country and its exciting neighbour
can offer! As a minimum number of 30 participants are
required, please book (with payment) your pre-conference
tour to Lapland or post-conference our to St.Petersburg by 1st
of May.
A Tour to the Wilderness
Thursday 8 August at 9.00-17.00
At Helvetinjärvi National Park the countryside is
unspoilt and nature is in summer bloom. We will start with
an hour's bus drive away from Tampere. Then it is time for a
hike in the forest to admire the greenery and the forest’s
f lora and fauna. The hike will continue after a coffee
break by a campfire. A soo hing sauna bath,a swim in the
lake and a delicious lunch will complete your tour to a
Finnish forest. Take along your swimsuit and good walking
shoes. We will return o Tampere by bus just in time for the
Opening of the Conference.

Tour to St.Petersburg,
(Russia) –
a City Filled with Cultural, Historical and Architectural Treasures

St.Petersburg has been rightly called one of the most
beautiful cities in he world – a unique mix of European
and Russian elements. It has culture, luxury and poverty.
This old capital of he Russian empire is an unusually
attractive pearl for all art lovers, ballet, music and
theatre enthusiasts as well as admirers of historic sights.
During our stay in St.Petersburg we will visit St.Isaac’s
Cathedral and the Hermitage. There is a chance to get
tickets to the ballet, or join a "Dinner á la Russia
"with Russian music, folk dancing, food and drinks. On
the way back we will stop for lunch at the Carelian town of
Vyborg on the Gulf of Finland, arriving in Helsinki for one
night, before flying back home. The price includes coach
travel Tampere - St.Pe ersburg - Helsinki on a Finnish bus,
half board, three nights in St.Pe ersburg, one night in
Helsinki, sightseeing tours and visits to the museums
mentioned, services of a Finnish tour guide and an English
speaking local guide in St.Petersburg. The tour starts on
the afternoon of August 11 from Tampere and ends in Helsinki
on the morning of August 15.
